Drugs
A number of drugs are prescribed for MS with the hope that they will slow the
progression of the disease. There is still a lot of controversy as to whether or
not the currently prescribed drugs have an effect on MS progression over the
long term.
The links on this page will take you to news items and information on each of
the FDA approved drugs for MS as well as experimental drugs that are currently
being tested in clinical trials. Because of the high cost of the drugs and the
potential for serious side effects, anyone contemplating their use is advised to
gather as much information as possible. In this regard a number of journal
articles on the drugs can be found on the Drugs Page in our
virtual library.
